Queues and Quesadillas
Another improbably sunny day in the Pacific Northwest! I figured I needed to go to the Space Needle to complete my Seattle experience so I took the Monorail over (ooh err!), bought my ticket, and got in the queue. And queued. And queued. Only my English stubbornness kept me in that line; plus the fact that they cunningly hid bits of queue round corners, so you always thought you were nearly there. An hour later I got to the top! It was ok. High. I think I need to stop expecting so much from the nation’s tall buildings. After that I visted the Experience Music Project which was pretty interesting and showcased a lot of local music history, including some of Jimi Hendrix’s authentically smashed guitars. And some of Kurt Cobain’s smashed guitars. There was a definite theme… It also looks a bit like the Sage Gateshead if it was involved in a petrol spill (above). Spent the rest of the day doing more wandering, buying things that won’t fit in my bags and eating yummy food – visited a really cool Mexican restaurant in Capitol Hill which served amazing quesadillas and played Give Up by the Postal Service in it’s entirety, the perfect lunch! Last day here tomorrow, but I will definitely be back. With drums!
