Last Day in the USA
Last day in Seattle. Spent a chunk of the morning cramming all my stuff into my complaining bag, whilst chatting to two travelling biologists who were sharing my room! When it was as packed as it was going to get, I visited a lovely little cafe for a breakfast of baguette, butter, jam and a vanilla sugar latte before heading back to Pike Street Market for some final shopping. Sunday is a good day to go down as loads of the stalls have demonstrations – I watched a guy filletting a huge haddock ready for cooking! They also had beautiful displays of flowers, fruit and vegetables and lots of these hanging chilli peppers – if I was staying here any length of time you’d have to physically stop me going there every day. I think the city knows I’m leaving; the weather, beautiful since I got here, has turned grey and overcast – preparing me to go back to London I guess! Currently waiting for a taxi to take me to the airport, where I am going to have to come up with a cunning plan to disguise quite how much carry-on luggage I have… See you all soon!
